Here I am getting rescued because I got stuck a little before the platform at end of the run, because I braked too quickly. You brake with a leather glove, pulling down on the cable. The cable can handle about 8000 pounds, which was reassuring. I wasn't the only one who got stuck - without rain, conditions were a little dry, so we didn't have the speed we would have if we were wet.

Previously a fine artist, a web and graphic designer, I did seven years as a corporate project manager designing internet tools. Caught between unfulfillment, and disturbed by the direction my country of birth is taking, I'm seeking a life more harmonious with my values - living simply in a warm climate, more sustainably and gently on the planet.
