Here is the volcano Arenal. I wasn't crazy about the touristy town of La Fortuna, it was hot and expensive, but the tour companies really were good, and knew what they were doing. Later that day, I took a tour which included a walk through the forest, identifying some plants, and then we looked at the volcano at night to see if we could see some eruptions and lava. Even though it was rainy and cloudy, we DID see a few eruptions, which looked a little like fireworks going upward and the lava races down the mountain fast. My camera couldn't get any night shots from the distance, and with all the clouds and rain, I was lucky to have a brief window of time for a clear shot of the mountain.
