I still can't get over what grows here! This bird of paradise (there are several varieties) is the largest one I have seen, and it is flourishing in front of someone's house. Now having completed my Spanish classes (I am by no means fluent, but can have simple conversations, and if people speak slowly, I understand MOST of what I hear) I will be travelling to a couple more areas in Costa Rica, and then will decide what to do from there. Tonight is a party for some ex-pat Americans who are leaving for three months, and tomorrow, I go with a few students on a bus trip to Turrialba, where we will visit CATI (the Center for agricultural research) and a Pre-Columbian archeology site.
